Ethernet has undergone significant advancements since it was first developed in the 1970s for applications with non-deterministic communication needs. Today Ethernet is faster, more reliable, and has multiple physical media.
Microchip offers stand-alone controllers, transceivers, switches, hubs, and bridge solutions as well as Ethernet-enabled microcontrollers (MCUs) and microprocessors (MPUs). Moreover, Microchip's EtherCAT® high-performance Ethernet-based product portfolio is compatible with the Ethernet for Control Automation Technology standard.
