Configure Pins for Switch and LED

Configure the switch button pin with EIC

In MHC, select the Pin Settings tab, scroll down to 67 in the Pin Number column, and configure the PORT pin PB19 as an external interrupt pin for switch functionality, as shown in the accompanying image.

The internal pull-up is enabled to avoid false edge detection as there is no external pull-up on the SAMC21N Xplained Pro Evaluation Kit.

Select the Project Graph tab.

Under the bottom left tab, Available Components, expand Peripheral > EIC.

Select and double click on EIC to add the EIC module to the project.

Configure the EIC block to generate an interrupt every time the user presses the switch SW0 as shown in the accompanying image, and enable debounce functionality to avoid debouncing on the switch pin.

Configure LED Pin

Select the MHC Pin Settings tab and then scroll down to 21 in the Pin Number column and configure the PORT pin PC05 as an output pin for LED functionality as shown in the accompanying image.

Note: The LED on the SAMC21N Xplained Pro board is active low. Configure the LED in default OFF state by configuring the latch value to logic High.

Rename the default main file

Under the Project Graph tab, click on System, and configure as shown in the accompanying image to give a name of your liking to the default template main file generated by MHC.

Note: The name of the default main.c is changed to main_c21n.c to indicate that the referred main.c is for the SAM C2x getting started training module.
