Introduction

Graphic assets are visual elements that are used in marketing materials, websites, games, apps, and other platforms. They can include images, logos, icons, illustrations, animations, infographics, banners, backgrounds, and other visual components. These assets play a crucial role in creating an attractive and cohesive visual identity for a brand, product, or service.

Microchip Graphics Suite (MGS) Harmony Graphics assets include images, fonts, and strings. MGS Harmony provides users with asset management tools to manage and configure these assets.

The Graphics Asset Converter (GAC) enables different asset formats to be imported to the project during design time and converted to a different format in the generated code. This provides users the ability to optimize these assets for performance and size, as well as the flexibility to store these assets in program Flash or external memory.

Using Images

Image graphic assets in a Graphical User Interface (GUI) refer to the visual elements used in the interface design. These can include icons, buttons, backgrounds, banners, diagrams, illustrations, animations, and other visual components that help to enhance user interaction and experience.

Using Fonts

Fonts, also known as typefaces, are sets of characters, symbols, and glyphs that share a common design or style. They are used in text to provide a certain aesthetic appeal and to make the text easier to read. Fonts can vary in size, weight (like bold or light), style (like italic or oblique), and more. Examples of common fonts include Times New Roman, Arial, and Helvetica. They play a crucial role in designing graphical user interfaces where text is used.

Using Strings

In GUIs, strings are used to represent text that is displayed to the user or received from the user. They are sequences of characters that can include letters, numbers, and symbols. For example, labels, buttons, text fields, and other components of a GUI may use strings to display text. When a user enters text into a text field, this input is also typically handled as a string.
